Results File
You can set E-Forms EZ to save the results of a form submission to a file on disk. You supply E-Forms EZ the name of this file using the results_file field on your form. If the file is located in the same directory as e-forms.exe, just use the file name without the drive or directory (results_file="myfile.txt)". If the file is in a directory below the directory where e-forms.exe is stored, use the format results_file="\mydir\myfile.txt". If you know the absolute location of the file, use the format results_file="c:\webfiles\myfile.txt". You cannot use a URL for this file.

You can have E-Forms EZ automatically generate a unique file name for you. To do so, set the value of results_file to "/auto". This will permit you to have a unique results file per form submission.

If you choose to create a Results File, the form results will be inserted into this file using the value of the default_format field. If that field is omitted, then the results will be formatted with one field per line (mail_to: carrprog@azwebpages.com).

If you want to customize the format of the results_file, then create a results_file_template file. This file is formatted using macros the same way as the message_text file is. The results_file_template overrides the default_format field.

The Results File Template file uses macros just like the Message Text file. The program will read this file, convert the macros into their values, then append this data to the end of the Results File. You supply E-Forms EZ the name of this file using the results_file_template field on your form. If the file is located in the same directory as e-forms.exe, just use the file name without the drive or directory (results_file_template="myfile.txt)". If the file is in a directory below the directory where e-forms.exe is stored, use the format results_file_template="\mydir\myfile.txt". If you know the absolute location of the file, use the format results_file_template="c:\webfiles\myfile.txt". You cannot use a URL for this file. Open ez-results_file_template.txt for an example.

You can set E-Forms EZ to automatically delete the Results File after the message is sent. By default the program appends data to the Results File, effectively keeping a running record of data submitted from your form. However, there are times where you may prefer to have a file sent to you each time the form is submitted where the file would contain just one record. To accomplish this, set the value of the field delete_results_file to yes. The program will automatically delete the Results File after the message has been sent.
