Day 93 - Saturday, October 18, 1997Elma RV Park, Elma, Washington - We rode our bikes into the logging town of Elma today. Elma, by the way, is located just a few miles from the Satsop Nuclear Reactor. What a lovely view! Our first stop was the Timberland Library. We enjoyed looking at their books - both of them!!Many of the shops and restaurants had big signs reading "Supported by Timber Dollars". We didn't have the guts to tell them that Timber Dollars are actually US Taxpayer Dollars since they harvest public forests using public roads built for that purpose. Had we told them, we would not be writing to you now!! While crusing around town, Jim's front tire developed a goiter. A mile or so later, it popped with a loud bang. Being in a hunting area, nobody even batted an eye. Needless to say we had to walk the bikes from town back to the campground. We didn't mind since it was kind of cool to be riding anyway.
