Day 89 - Tuesday, October 14, 1997

Lake Pleasant, Bothell, Washington - We went to downtown Seattle again today since it wasn't raining!! It was actually a decent day with sporadic sunshine (it's been so long our eyes hurt). We visited the Pike Place Market, which is an open-air market and partly underground shopping area. The fresh fruit vendors were selling "Sweet Ass Grapes", which were freaking HUGE! They were almost as big as cherry tomatoes. The underground shops included some small cafes that looked out over the pier. We also went into a collectibles shop that had lots of original Star Wars toys which brought back many memories.

We ate dinner at Tony Roma's by the Kingdome (the big turtle) because we had a 2-for-1 coupon. This is by far the best rib joint we have ever been in. We ate until we were about ready to puke, then decided, "Hey, what the heck?" So we hit the bathrooms, purged, and came back out and wolfed down what we couldn't finish before.

After dinner we strolled around the piers, basking in the partly to mostly cloudy skies. We stopped in Ye Olde Curiosity Shop where we saw "Sylvester, our six foot perfectly preserved genuine mummy found in the Arizona desert over 100 years ago." He looked a lot like Jim's high school shop teacher.
