Day 56 - Thursday, September 11, 1997

Sawtelle Mountain RV Park, Island Park, Idaho - Clouds and cold rolled in last night. At an elevation of 7,200 feet where we're camping, cold means cold! It rained on and off all day today. We decided to try to hit Yellowstone during what seemed to be a let-up in the rain this afternoon. We drove the 25 miles to the town of West Yellowstone. Just as we took a left to head to the park entrance, a hail storm hit us! Oh, what joy!! Rather than fight the weather in the park, we decided to hang around the town of West Yellowstone.

While in town we hit the West Yellowstone Mall. The eatery in Wheaton Mall is bigger than the entire mall here. There are about six stores in the mall. They have both kinds of clothing stores here: country and western!
