Day 55 - Wednesday, September 10, 1997

Sawtelle Mountain RV Park, Island Park, Idaho - We had a heck of a drive today coming from Missoula. It turns out that Island Park is in the part of the state known as Greater Nowhere, Idaho. We are 25 miles away from the nearest diesel station. The closest real grocery store (one like Giant or Safeway back home) is about 100 miles away in Idaho Falls. The locals say it is common to drive 200 miles round trip every few weeks to get the things you need.

Nothing too exciting happened today except that the campground entrance and campsites here are poorly marked. It's no fun driving around with a trailer trying to figure out which site is which - some of the turns are kind of tight. And the other campers look so smug because you didn't see them do the same thing!
