Day 34 - Wednesday, August 20, 1997
|
Shakopee View Campground, Shakopee, Minnesota - Today we went to the Mall of America, which is the nation's largest indoor retail and amusement center. There are hundreds and hundreds of stores here including Sears, Nordstroms and Bloomingdales. Right smack in the middle of this five level is was an actual amusement park, complete with its own roller coaster and ferris wheel! There is also an underwater aquarium inside the mall.
You really have to see this place to believe it. It is absolutely huge. Those idiots in Silver Spring who voted down the idea really blew it. The place seems to be humming with business. We only saw one storefront that wasn't occupied. There's a little something here for just about everyone. It beats the hell out the empty shell they call downtown Silver Spring!
Fortunately we got out of there after spending only $5 - we simply couldn't pass by Cinnabon without indulging!!
Yeh, sure, we could have hit Wheaton Mall before we left, but it just tastes better here in Minnesota.
By the way, we hit the whirlpool again today.
