Day 21 - Thursday, August 7, 1997

Getaway Mountain Campground, Ascutney, Vermont - We woke up cold and early in New Hampshire and hit the road for some ice cream! That's right, we left N.H. for Waterbury, Vermont, to visit Ben and Jerry's. We thought it would be a cute place to stop - we didn't realize that it was the biggest tourist attraction in Vermont!

We planned to stay the night a few miles up the road in Stowe, but were unable to get a site for the night. Now we know how Joseph and Mary felt, except if Marci ever conceives, it won't be immaculate. It turns out there was an antique car show in Stowe, which is why it was so packed!

Anyhoo, boogaloo, we didn't take the Ben and Jerry's tour. However, we did enjoy sampling the flavors. Marci had Reeses Peanut Butter Cup, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Mint Cookies and Cream. Jim had Wavy Gravy, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and Vanilla Chocolate Chunk! They were very, very good! Buck went to visit some cows, but they told him to moooove! Nyuk!

Did we mention that we bought a special TV antenna back in Medway? Now instead of getting just 2-3 fuzzy channels, we get 2-3 halfway decent channels! Recently we've been only getting one major network - ABC. Tonight we got NBC in time for Friends, Seinfeld and ER.

We played some pinball tonight against the grandson of the campground owner. Jim beat the kid the first time, but got whipped the second time around. So Jim knifed the kid and Marci rolled him for change.
