Duck Puddle Campground, Nobelboro, Maine - We decided to forgo a trip to Eastport, Maine (the easternmost point of the USA) and stayed in Duck Puddle another day. Much of today we spent reading our books. Jim finished the one he started yesterday. While it was sunny this morning (yes, we were awake before noon), it kept trying to rain all afternoon. That's why we spent the day reading.
Late this afternoon we drove to Pemaquid Point (about 20 miles away) to see the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, which, if you believe the postcards, is world famous! We walked all around the lighthouse, but there was no sign of the ghost or any of the Muir family!
It was low tide when we arrived, so we climbed out on the rocks. The view from above (the rocks were high up) was wild! We could see the rising and falling of the ocean. It truly is the motion of the ocean and not the size of the waves that counts!
When Jim took his shower today (like he does every Sunday), he found a small tree frog clinging to the shower curtain. He almost missed it since it was only the size of his thumb and nearly the same translucent yellow as the shower curtain. Figuring that some kid would find it and hurt it, Jim brought it back to camp and set it free. All Hail Jim, Giver of Frog Freedom!
