Day 117 - Tuesday, November 11, 1997
|
Vagabond Inn, San Luis Opisbo, CA - Our plan today was to camp in Big
Sur. We got to a campground that was located in a Redwood forest. We picked our site, backed in the trailer, got it unhitched and watched it sink slowly into the mud. We hitched Buck up to The Den and yelled, "MUSH!" Buck sat down and wagged his tail. Needless to say, after a half hour of trying to get things level we decided to move on.
After driving forever we stopped at a Denny's for some eats. We couldn't decide where to stay. We were tired and ready to stop for the night. Alas, there was no campground nearby.
Suddenly, there it was. Over our Grand Slam meals and through the window we saw a sign. Nay, a calling! The Vagabond Inn! Remembering the costumes we'd been donning since Halloween we knew this was the place to stay!
So here we are. Curled up in a king size bed with a bathroom five feet away. Sometimes life's pieces fall into place.
