Tropicana Motel, Reedsport, Oregon - We hardly got any sleep again last night due to the high winds blowing across the canvas of The Den all night. As we drove south down US 101, the winds got worse and worse. The car and trailer were being blown all over the road. Several times tractor trailers were blown over to our side of the road.
The rain and wind were making driving very difficult and somewhat treacherous. Our folks told us before we left, "Don't be stupid," so we figured we should pull over. Furthermore, tent trailers are not designed to withstand 40+ mph winds. It says right on the warranty card, "Don't be stupid," so we decided to pull over and check into a motel. That's right, we broke our streak of 100+ days without a real bed and checked into the Tropicana Motel. Not only were they cheap, but they took pets (and Jim)!
