Day 100 - Saturday, October 25, 1997
Roam and Rest RV Park, Portland, Oregon -
Today was a milestone on our adventure. It's Day 100!! Yep, it's been 100 days since we:
Have seen anyone we knew before we left.
Cooked on a stove with more than two burners.
Microwaved anything.
Used an oven.
Used a dishwasher.
Slept in a real bed.
Have seen each other in anything but the 5 days worth of clothes we brought.
Had to get up and go to work.
Hugged our parents.
Used our own bathroom.
Showered in a shower where we knew the person who showered before us.
Been apart for more than one hour.
Shopped for food without looking at the price.
Have seen The Washington Post.
Had to answer our phone.
Checked our own mail.
Had pizza delivered.
Had Chinese food at Shen Yang.
Played bass (Jim).
Took a bath.
Woke up in the middle of the night and didn't have to go outside to pee.
Had hot running water for doing dishes.
Got to stay outside without a leash (Buck).
Washed clothes without needing quarters.
Listened to messages on our answering machine.
Shopped at Giant Food.
Went out to dinner with friends.
Spent the night in a real house.
Wrote a rent check.
Pumped fuel (Marci).
Got our clean clothes out of a closet or drawer (they're in the car).
Shopped at a store long enough to be a "regulars."
Vacuumed.
Cleaned a toilet.
Worked in the yard.
Got a parking ticket from the City of College Park (a record).
Bought more than three days worth of food at one time.
Used a printer.
Had the same neighbors for more than a week.
Had walls more than 1/2" thick.
Had a home that didn't roll.
Had a home that didn't have to be setup and taken down.
Took a nap on a couch.
Used a toaster, blender, breadmaker, blow dryer or coffee maker.
Made ice.
Had glass windows.
Slept under anything besides a sleeping bag.
Been called Mrs. Carr (Marci or Jim).
It's been 100 days since we discovered a whole new world.
